DELILAH DIRK: Disney Eyes Cinematic Adaptation

Delilah Dirk

Disney is interested in making a film version of Delilah Dirk. The studio wishes to adapt the popular web comic series from writer and artist Tony Cliff for the big screen.

Seeking to bring the “International Mistress of Swordsmanship” to life, Disney is ready to produce a movie based on Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant, the first story arc in the series’ narrative. The book, part of which can be read for free on the series’ site, was followed by another novel entitled Delilah Dirk and the King’s Shilling. It is unknown if Disney has also acquired the rights to adapting the second book.

Known amongst readers for its exciting thrills, Delilah Dirk appears well-suited to gracing the big screen:

Lovable ne’er-do-well Delilah Dirk is an adventurer for the 19th century. She has traveled to Japan, Indonesia, France, and even the New World. Using the skills she’s picked up on the way, Delilah’s adventures continue as she plots to rob a rich and corrupt Sultan in Constantinople. With the aid of her flying boat and her newfound friend, Selim, she evades the Sultan’s guards, leaves angry pirates in the dust, and fights her way through the countryside. For Delilah, one adventure leads to the next in this thrilling and funny installment in her exciting life.

The Delilah Dirk movie will be produced by Justin Giritlian alongside Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Mark Mower.
