DJANGO UNCHAINED: Don Johnson Cast by Quentin Tarantino

Don Johnson, Machete

Don Johnson has been cast in Django Unchained. Don Johnson being cast in Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained (2012) illuminates another character in the western movie. Don Johnson will be playing “Spencer Bennett, a plantation owner who runs a string of ‘ponies’ — that is, pretty, young female slaves. It’s not a big role, but Johnson will get to factor in to one of the film’s early sequences as Django (Jamie Foxx) and dentist turned bounty hunter King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) begin their association.”

More on the plot of Django Unchained:

Jamie Foxx is the freed slave Django. With the German dentist turned bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), he kills white slave-runners and then tries to free his wife Broomhilda (not yet cast) from bigshot slaver Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), [a Mississippi plantation owner].

Django Unchained also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Dennis Christopher, Kurt Russell, Gerald McRaney, M.C. Gainey, Treat Williams, Laura Cayouette, and Michael Kenneth Williams.

There is still one pivotal role that has not been cast. “We’re still waiting to hear who’s been chosen to play Django’s wife Broomhilda; that’s one of the remaining important roles left to announce” but Kerry Washington is rumored on IMDb to be in contention for it.
