Thoughts on This Week’s In-home Releases

The home releases of Bullet Train, The Deer King, Station Eleven, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Tropic Thunder, The Ring, and Rain Man are the most noteworthy releases (and pre-orders) on home video and streaming services this week.

FilmBook Writer Thomas Duffy reviewed Bullet Train and had this to say about the film:

Bullet Train is nothing short of an action film movie-goer’s dream come true. Brad Pitt is an action movie star who, even at his age, can carry a movie and make you want to see him succeed. Some stars could have played this role and we wouldn’t have cared too much about what happens to them but in Pitt’s hands, Ladybug is a treat to watch and makes us laugh all throughout even in the most serious scenes of the film. This is one to see on the big screen.

FilmBook Editor-in-chief Rollo Tomasi reviewed Tropic Thunder and had this to say about the film:

Tropic Thunder is not as continuously funny as Old School or Badder Santa (the uncut version of Bad Santa) but when it is funny, it’s uproarious. When a certain character starts imitating what is common place in some rap videos and begins dancing under a spot light is a text-book example of this and is also one of how to end a comedy, especially a spoofing comedy, right.
