Steve Buscemi And Greg Kinnear Cast In Amazon’s Electric Dreams

Amazon adds Emmy Award-nominated Boardwalk Empire star Steve Buscemi and Academy Award-nominated As Good as It Gets actor Greg Kinnear to the streaming service’s planned original series Electric Dreams.

Buscemi, of course, is widely recognized for his performances in projects from Reservoir Dogs and Fargo to Hotel Transylvania and The Boss Baby. Kinnear, on the other hand, has appeared in movies like We Were Soldiers, Little Miss Sunshine, and Heaven is for Real and shows like The Kennedys where he starred as John F. Kennedy.

Based on the work of beloved science fiction author Philip K. Dick, the planned anthology series will see Buscemi, Kinnear, and other cast members like Bryan Cranston and Timothy Spall play characters in a futuristic world where what tomorrow holds may be as menacing as it is promising.

Variety, the source of this story, adds the following information about the first episode of the program:

Spall will headline the show’s first episode, “The Commuter,” as an unassuming employee at a train station who is alarmed to discover some commuters are taking the train to a town that shouldn’t exist. When he chooses to investigate he discovers an alternate reality that forces him to confront his own family struggles. Reid, Middleton and “I, Daniel Blake” break-out star Squires all co-star in the episode which also stars Rebecca Manley and Anthony Boyle as Spall’s wife and son, respectively.
