AMC‘s Fear the Walking Dead ‘Red Dirt’ trailer & clip stars Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, Mercedes Mason, and Rubén Blades. Guest stars include Danay Garcia, Daniel Sharman, Sam Underwood, Michael Greyeyes, Hugo Armstrong, Rae Gray, Michael William Freeman, Dominic Bogart, Nathan Sutton, and Dayton Callie.
No, this ain’t that long awaited sequel to Joe Dirt, that some of you’ve been dying for (everyone pauses to glare Joe Dirt fans out of the room); but it could be a step toward’s Fear the Walking Dead‘s version of The Walking Dead‘s multi-commune war.
There’s a new kind of Walker in town, and these guys not only walk, talk, and breath, they also shoot (and feed people brain to crows, while in use). To that last point, the bonding of the previous episode gives way to everyone reaching for their irons. Certain details, regarding the backdrop to this coming conflict, will leave both Madison (Kim Dickens) & Jeremiah (Dayton Callie) rethinking how tight a circle to make, with their respective wagons.
Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) & Jake (Sam Underwood), however, take to gunnery as more bonding time. A good thing, if you’re all good with this thing they’ve just gotten started on. A more cynical take would be that, like her mother, Alicia’s working the angles – figuring out her best way to sink her fingers into a new safe-space, and Jake has a much softer underbelly than Troy (Daniel Sharman).
This isn’t necessarily my personal take – I’m just putting that out there. Maybe she just wants Abel to do better than Cain, this time. Maybe she just doesn’t want Troy becoming boss-of-everything (“’cause nobody likes you, Monkey Boy”).
Whatever the case, I’m just hoping we don’t have to wait too long, during this tense calm stage, before more crows start getting a piece of Human mind.
P.S. You might want to pay attention to the cast listing… there’s a hint as to who might’ve been feeding the crows, during something of a hiatus….
