Scarlett Johansson has been cast as Jean Marie Gill, “a woman who flourished in a male-dominated business of massage parlors and prostitution by essentially taking on the physical identity of a man. [Gill was] a larger-than-life character who took on the mob and became the crime kingpin of 1970s Pittsburgh through her empire of illicit massage parlors and an anabolic steroids ring that helped fuel the Pittsburgh Steelers’ NFL dynasty, all the while cross-dressing and leaning on her allies in the gay community to help grow her empire. However, it is Jean’s fiery romance with her girlfriend Cynthia that truly defines her and forms the emotional core of the story.”
Gary Spinelli wrote the screenplay for the Rupert Sanders-directed film.
The King of Oil
Matt Damon is in negotiation to play Marc Rich, a “fugitive billionaire commodities trader that was pardoned by President Bill Clinton on his last day in office in a controversial decision. Rich, a child of the Holocaust, became the richest and most powerful commodities trader of the century. In 1983, he was indicted on 65 criminal counts, including tax evasion.”
The film is based on the autobiography by Daniel Ammann.
Lucas Hedges and Sterling K. Brown have been cast in unspecified roles in the movie musical.

Keegan-Michael Key has been cast as Jerry Jones, “a playwright who is convinced by [Rudy Ray Moore] to write the screenplay for Dolemite.”

Dolemite Is My Name‘s plot synopsis: “the film based on the life of Rudy Ray Moore, the comedian well-known for his raunchy, X-rated stand up that he also infused with rapping and rhythm, earning him the nickname Godfather of Rap. Moore also became popular for his creation of the character Dolemite in his stand-up routines that, after five years of performing as the urban hero, he decided to bring him to the big screen with the 1975 movie of the same name.”
Craig Brewer is directing the film.
