Venom 2, Jumanji 3, and Dune Film Casting News

Venom, Jumanji 3, and Dune made recent film casting, screenwriting, and director news. These films come from movie studios primarily based in the United States and abroad. The castings, screenwriters, and directors are subject to change.

Dune

Dave Bautista has been cast as Glossu “Beast” Rabban Harkonnen, “called Mudir Nahya (Demon Ruler), and King Cobra by the Fremen. [He] was the older nephew of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, and the Count of Lankiveil…He inherited the Harkonnen penchant for sadism and cruelty, but not the cunning. He was best known for his tyrannical and vastly ineffective governance of Arrakis during the Harkonnen fiefdom of Arrakis, as well as during the insurgency of the Fremen led by Paul Muad’Dib. He earned the nickname “Beast” when he killed his father, Abulurd Harkonnen.”

This actor joins already cast Timothee Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson.

Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts the screenplay for the Denis Villeneuve-directed film.

Jumanji 3

Awkwafina has been cast in an unspecified role.

Danny DeVito has been cast in an unspecified role.

This actor and actress join already cast: Dwayne Johnson, Kevin HartKaren Gillan, and Jack Black.

Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg wrote the screenplay for the Jake Kasdan-directed film.

Jumanji 3 will be released in U.S. theaters through Sony Pictures on December 13, 2019.

Venom 2

Kelly Marcel has been selected to write the script. She was one of the writers for the first film’s script.

Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams are both reprising their roles from the previous film.

Woody Harrelson has been cast as the villain Cletus Kasady / Carnage.

Cletus Kasady’s biography:

When Eddie Brock’s Venom symbiote soon returned to be bonded again, allowing Venom to escape prison, the symbiote left its offspring in the cell; due to its alien mindset, the symbiote felt no emotional attachment to its offspring, regarding it as insignificant, and thus never communicated its existence to Brock via their telepathic link. The new symbiote then bonded with Brock’s cellmate Cletus Kasady, transforming him into Carnage. The bond between the Carnage symbiote and Kasady was stronger than the bond between Brock and the Venom symbiote. As a result, Carnage is far more violent, powerful, and deadly than Venom. He escaped prison, and began a series of murders, and at the scene of each crime, wrote “Carnage” on the walls with his own blood.
