Jessica Jones, The X-Files, Flashpoint, And Other Film And TV Casting News

Jessica Jones, The X-FilesFlashpoint, and other films and TV shows have made recent casting news.

These productions come from studios based primarily in the United States. The castings are subject to change.

Karen Gillan says that she would like to play the Joker in Flashpoint or another DC Extended Universe film. The subject arose when the Guardians of the Galaxy actress was asked what non-MCU roles she was interested in playing. Gillan’s answer isn’t as strange as it may appear at first glance: in the original Flashpoint comics, Martha Wayne becomes the Joker as part of the story’s central temporal disruptions, a fact that led an excited Gillan to declare “This is my calling!”

The X-Files

Barbara Hershey has been cast in a recurring role in the upcoming 11th season of Fox’s science fiction drama The X-Files. The Black Swan and Insidious actress will play the character of Erika Price, who is described by Deadline as a “powerful figure who represents a mysterious organization.”

Jessica Jones

David Tennant will return as Kilgrave in the second season of Netflix’s original Marvel series Jessica Jones.

Patrick Melrose

Blythe Danner signs onto the cast of Showtime and Sky Atlantic’s planned five-part miniseries Patrick Melrose.

Connie Britton has been cast in a guest role in the first season of Showtime’s upcoming comedy series Smilf.
