James Bond

Both Apple and Amazon have entered the bidding fray for the rights to distribute the next James Bond film. This puts the two tech giants in contention with such studios as Sony, Fox, and Universal, although Warner Bros. is the reported favorite at this time. Daniel Craig has already confirmed that he will return for what will be his fifth Bond film despite claims that that he was done with the franchise after Spectre.

Inhumans

ABC is said to be concerned about the future of its upcoming Marvel superhero series Inhumans. Much of the concern reportedly derives from the quality of the show’s special effects as well as the “underpinning scripts”. Another likely source of contention is the sub-par theatrical performance of the first two episodes, which debuted in IMAX theaters but have barely brought in $2.6 million.

Filming has officially started on Disney‘s live-action reboot of Aladdin.

Gina Rodriguez is producing an immigration-themed framed titled Illegal for The CW.
