Fincher to direct Black Hole

David Fincher has been tapped to direct the adaptation of Charles Burns 12-issue limited series comic book Black Hole, which was published between 1995 and 2005. Roger Avary, co-writer of Pulp Fiction and Beowulf, along with Neil Gaiman, writer of Stardust and The Sandman, were hired to pen a screenplay draft of Black Hole in March of 2006. It’s unclear whether or not Fincher will use what Avary and Gaiman handed in. Fincher was hired by Paramount Pictures, MTV Films to direct the film that is to be produced by Plan B and Kevin Messick. I just started reading Black Hole. The concept seems very interesting concerning “the Bug” and “the teen plague.” When the filming begins, I hope the material is not modified to be more PG-13, family friendly. Nobody wants to see another Fantastic Four.
