Syfy Picks Up Series Based on Five Ghosts. Syfy keeps on adding to its line-up of original programming as the network will be adapting the comic book series Five Ghosts into a television series with Universal Cable Productions producing the adventure series.

According to ComingSoon, the critically-acclaimed series follows treasure hunter Fabian Gray who, following an encounter with an ancient artifact called the Dreamstone, gets possessed by five ghosts: Sherlock Holmes, Merlin, Robin Hood, Musashi, and Dracula. With these entities in his body, the Fabian Gray can use their abilities throughout his adventures. Frank J. Barbiere and Chris Mooneyham through Kickstarter created the 1930s era series back in 2012. The comic was previewed at the San Diego Comic Con that same year and after 2013, Image Comics picked the series up for a successful launch at the Emerald City Comic Con.

News of the Five Ghosts adaptation was heard back in July when Universal Cable Productions when it optioned the rights. The production brand will team up with comic book company Black Mask Studios and BenderSpink. Divergent writer Evan Daugherty will write the pilot of the gritty adventure series for Syfy. Black Mask’s Matt Pizzolo and Brett Gurewitz will be co-executive produce with BenderSpink’s Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, and Jake Wagner.
