THE FLASH: First Look at Who’s The Man in The Iron Mask [The CW]

John Wesley Shipp Jay Garrick The Flash

First Look at the Man in the Iron Mask Revealed on The Flash. After tonight’s finale, the question of who’s behind the iron mask was put to rest when The CW series revealed that the man was none other than Henry Allen’s (John Wesley Shipp) doppelganger Jay Garrick.

There were so many twists and turns, but it all came down to who the man in the iron mask was. Many have guessed who it was, but the majority seemed to have guessed correctly that it was John Wesley Shipp’s character, who is actually the real Jay Garrick from Earth-3. It was revealed that Zoom (Teddy Sears) kidnapped him from his Earth after gaining his speed. Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) himself was shocked to learn that the prisoner whom he got to know during his time in Zoom’s chambers turned out to be the spitting image of his deceased father.

Talking with EW, John Wesley Shipp talked about his new role and how it felt to put on a costume after 26 years.

It was nerve-racking. Andrew Kreisberg said to me, “You get to be The Flash again!” I dubiously went, “Yeah, I know.” He said, “Why? What?” “Andrew, it’s been 25 years.” Of course, being very kind, he stepped back, looked me up and down, and said, “Yeah, but look at you! You’re fine!” Putting on that costume, I saw everything that is wrong about me now that wasn’t wrong physically with me 25 years ago. I was very nervous.

Shipp confirmed that he would be back for a third season and gave some details on what the new season has in store for his character. You can check the first official photos of Jay Garrick right here.
