The CW Casts Todd Lasance as The Rival on The Flash. With Savitar as the new antagonist for the new season of The Flash, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will have a new speedster to outpace. However, he will also be going up against another speedster in the form of The Rival.
TVLine reported that Spartacus star Todd Lasance has been cast in the role of The Rival. In the DC Comics mythos, The Rival was an enemy of Jay Garrick, the first to take the mantle of The Flash. It’s probably possible that this speedster went into hiding when Zoom started eliminating other speedsters in Season 2 and has come back after hearing about Zoom’s demise. The character also had a similar outfit to Jay Garrick in the comics, which should leave Barry confused to see another speedster who looks like Jay.
Todd Lasance is no stranger to The CW as he had a stint on the seventh season of The Vampire Diaries. What do you guys think of this casting?
