GAME OF THRONES: Angela Lansbury In Talks To Join [HBO]

Angela Lansbury

Angela Lansbury reportedly in negotiations to appear in Game of Thrones. The Golden Globe-winning Murder, She Wrote and Beauty and the Beast actress may play a role in the HBO fantasy series’ upcoming season.

Rumor has it that Lansbury will work for four days on the program should she accept the role being offered to her. It is unknown which character the veteran actress is being considered for, but it is said that she will appear in two episodes out of the shortened season’s seven.

The casting of Lansbury comes on the heels of the announcement that fellow film and stage thespian Jim Broadbent will be lending his services to the show:

One of the longest running and most successful television crime shows in history, “Murder, She Wrote,” aired on CBS from 1984-1996, during which time Lansbury racked up — and still holds — the record for most Golden Globe nominations and wins for a lead actress. Centered on the fictional small town of Cabot Cove, Maine, the show lasted for 264 episodes with Lansbury solving a murder in just about every one. Fans and critics have pointed out that if Cabot Cove were a real place, it would be have one of the highest murder rates in the world — so as strange as the casting may sound, Lansbury might actually fit right in with the blood-soaked denizens of Westeros.
