Production On Godzilla: King Of Monsters To Start In June
Legendary Pictures announces that it has selected a production date and shooting location for its upcoming film Godzilla: King of Monsters.
Although the long-awaited Godzilla sequel is not set to hit theaters until March of 2019, the movie will start shooting this coming June in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s safe to say that the large gap between the film’s start date and its release date will provide an ample amount of time to do the necessary post-production work on a project of this scale. Fans, however, will have to tide themselves over with the related Kong: Skull Island.
Not much has been revealed about the production or its cast, but Krampus director Michael Dougherty has been tapped to helm it. The only actor to have been revealed so far is Millie Bobby Brown, the breakout child star of Netflix‘s Stranger Things.

The production schedule should work out well for Brown, who is rumored to reprise her role as Eleven in season two of “Stranger Things,” which is also filming in Atlanta. Marvel’s “Black Panther” and “Avengers: Infinity War” are also currently filming in Atlanta. “Ant-Man and the Wasp” was originally slated to begin filming in Atlanta starting in June, but a recent Facebook post from Michael Douglas revealed the film’s start date had been pushed back a month.
