FOX Casts Alexander Siddig as Ra’ al Ghul on Gotham

Gotham is about to introduce another major Batman villain as the FOX crime drama for James Gordon to fight against by bringing in Ra’s al Ghul. Game of Thrones actor Alexander Siddig will be playing the iconic character later during the third season of Gotham.

According to TVLine, the League of Shadows leader will be making his appearance during the current third season of the series. This version of Ra’s will have a connection with the Court of Owls, the organization that David Mazouz’s Bruce Wayne is investigating. It turns out that Ra’s al Ghul will be the man pulling the strings for this shadowy group. His past is shrouded in mystery, as Ra’s uses his deception and elusive ways to destroy his enemies. Being a leader for the League of Shadows, the show will shape him to become one of Bruce’s most powerful adversaries.

This will be the second time that Ra’s al Ghul will be on the small screen. Matt Nable played the character on Arrow’s third season and appeared on the first season of Legends of Tomorrow. The iconic villain was also portrayed on the big screen in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy with Liam Neeson playing the role. Siddig’s other TV credits include Peaky Blinders and a series regular role on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Siddig will make his debut on Gotham once the show returns this April, so we should be getting a first look at the character pretty soon. What do you think of the latest addition to Gotham?
