GOTHAM: Bruno Heller Reveals Arrival of The Red Hood

Red Hood

The Red Hood Will Show Up on Fox’s Gotham. Gotham has introduced countless villains from the Batman mythos, from The Penguin to the Electrocutioner. Well, another infamous villain will be making his debut on he Batman prequel series and its revealed to be Red Hood.

Executive producer Bruno Heller shared the news on Comic Book Resources when he was talking to them about what’s coming up for Gotham. When asked about whether the show would remain costume-free throughout the season, Heller said that an early version of Red Hood would appear in an upcoming episode. “There’s going to be an episode that involves the Red Hood,” Heller told CBR. He also adds:

Which picks up that strand, the costume strand, and sort of gives a kind of philosophical base, if that’s not too pretentious a word. Why costumes? What’s the power of costumes? What’s the power of a mask? All of that groundwork will be laid sort of culturally for that side of the DC Universe before we start rolling into the more spectacular spandex type of deal.

Ever since the character’s introduction, there have been three different versions of Red Hood: The Joker, Jason Todd, and the Red Hood Gang. The Joker’s first iteration as a villain was the Red Hood before his face was disfigured and became known as the Joker later on. The Jason Todd version appears as a resurrected Robin taking up the name as he fought against crime using illegal means. The Red Hood Gang appeared in the New 52 as one of Bruce’s first villains before becoming Batman. It’s still a mystery figuring out which version the series will go with, but fans will find out once the character makes his presence known.

So what do you think of Red Hood appearing on Gotham? Who do you think should play the nefarious villain?
