GOTHAM: Scarecrow to Show Up in 14th Episode

Scarecrow

Scarecrow to Appear in February 2nd Episode of Gotham. The next villain to be introduced in the world of Gotham is Scarecrow, who will debut in the fourteenth episode of Fox’s hit drama. We don’t know who will play the iconic villain, but we have some details on his introduction.

ComicBookMovie confirmed that Scarecrow would appear in an episode airing on February 2nd with part of the plot dealing with Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) searching for “a killer who targets victims with severe phobias”. That description obviously points to Scarecrow’s appearance as well as the title of the episode being called “The Fearsome Dr. Crane” giving it away on his introduction.

Scarecrow was announced to be another villain coming to Gotham back in November, as the show would be focusing on the origins of many villains in the Batman mythology. Series producer Danny Cannon said that Scarecrow would be introduced as a child with his father becoming the first incarnation of the villain.

Scarecrow was introduced in the comics as Dr. Jonathan Crane, a former psychiatrist who worked at the Arkham Asylum and experimented on patients using fear-inducing toxins. After injuring a student in class, he loses his job and takes his revenge against those who oppose him by becoming the Scarecrow.

British actor Cillian Murphy played the character in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, with the Scarecrow having his first live-action appearance.
