Adam Warlock May Feature In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige hint Adam Warlock could play a role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

A staple of Marvel‘s space-set comics, Warlock’s absence from the Marvel Cinematic Universe made many wonder if the character would ever appear on the big screen. As it turns out, Gunn originally planned to include him in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as he disclosed in an interview with /Film. However, the director felt that the screenplay had too many characters and reasoning that since Warlock’s role was least important to the story, he decided to “save him for later.”

Fueling speculation further was Feige’s statement that Warlock is not in Avengers: Infinity War and won’t appear “until Guardians 3”, suggesting that there is very serious discussion regarding the character at Marvel right now.

At one point, the chances of seeing Adam Warlock in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” seemed decent enough. In the comics, the character is the genetic twin of Ayesha, the main antagonist in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” He also plays an important role in the Infinity Gauntlet arc, a six-issue series that pitted the mad titan Thanos against the galaxy’s heroes. Elements of that arc have been adapted into a two-part film series by Marvel Studios, the first installment of which is scheduled to release in 2018.
