HIT-GIRL: Matthew Vaughn Working on Prequel to KICK-ASS

Matthew Vaughn Developing a Kick-Ass Prequel on Hit-Girl. Despite the box office failure of Kick-Ass 2, director Matthew Vaughn claims that he isn’t finished with the franchise yet. The Kick-Ass director revealed that he is currently working on a prequel focused on Hit-Girl.

Talking with Yahoo, Vaughn knew about the negative fan reactions on Kick-Ass 2, stating that he was “not happily done with the franchise.” However, Vaughn says that he is developing an idea for an origin story on Hit-Girl. “We’re working on an idea for a prequel of how did Hit-Girl and Big Daddy become Hit-Girl and Big Daddy,” he said. “If we make that, hopefully that will be the sorbet for the people that didn’t like Kick-Ass 2 and then we can go off and make Kick-Ass 3. I think we’ve got to do this prequel to regain the love that we had with Kick-Ass.”

It seems that there may be some life in Kick-Ass after all even though the sequel didn’t work out. Our only concern is whether Chloe Grace Moretz will put on the costume once again since she no longer has the short size for the role. Perhaps Hit-Girl may be recast for the prequel but it’s a no brainer that Nicholas Cage would most likely return to play Big Daddy. What do you guys think of a Hit-Girl movie?
