Hotel Transylvania 2Hotel Transylvania: The Television Series licensed by Disney ChannelSony Pictures Animation‘s Hotel Transylvania (2012) and Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015) have spawned a television show, entitled Hotel Transylvania: The Television Series, which is due to premiere on Disney Channel in 2017.

Hotel Transylvania (2012) chronicles the famous Count Dracula (Adam Sandler), monster hotel owner and father of the young Mavis Dracula (Selena Gomez). The Count has to protect Mavis from falling in love with Jonathan (Andy Samberg), a lone human traveler whose stay at Hotel Transylvania takes everybody by surprise.

Dracula’s attempts don’t go so well, though, and Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015) tells the story of Mavis, Johnny, and their son Dennis (Asher Blinkoff). This sequel is set forward seven years, telling the story of Dracula, his father Vlad (Mel Brooks), and their quest to ensure that Dennis develops his vampire powers instead of remaining a mere human. Hotel Transylvania 3 is set for release in 2018.

In the meantime, Sony Pictures Animation has developed a Hotel Transylvania TV series, which will move backwards in time, revolving around Mavis and her monster friends during their time in high school. Disney Channel has obtained broadcast and on-demand rights for the series in countries all around the world. Produced by Rick Mischel of Sony Pictures Animation, Hotel Transylvania: The Television Series will arrive on the small screen in 2017.
