I Kill Giants

Limited Comic Book Series I Kill Giants to Be Adapted into Feature Film. The critically acclaimed comic book series I Kill Giants will soon be jumping from page to screen as Treehouse Pictures plans to adapt it into a film. Anders Walter will direct the film in his feature debut.

ComingSoon reports that I Kill Giants creator Joe Kelly will produce the film alongside Treehouse Pictures and his creative group Man of Action and XYZ Films. Kelly will also be writing the screenplay for the film adaptation. Chris Columbus will also produce the project through his 1492 Pictures/Ocean Blue Entertainment.

“Joe Kelly has written a deeply insightful story about a child using fantasy to navigate through a harsh reality,” says Columbus, “and I am excited and proud to finally be able to bring this wonderful material to the screen.”

“I’m overwhelmed by the enthusiasm, vision and sheer talent of the team we’ve assembled,” says Kelly. “Chris and Anders understand the book on an instinctive level and will translate it into a hell of a film. I could not be happier.”

“I am very excited to be working with Chris again,” says Treehouse Picture’s president Justin Nappi. “We both feel strongly that Anders has the depth and vision needed to bring the amazing story and characters of I Kill Giants to life. As exemplified by his work in Helium and 9 Meter, Anders has a unique understanding of children and their uncanny ability to face life’s most difficult challenges.”

I Kill Giants follows the story of a young misfit girl battling against real and imaginary monsters in her life. The limited series was published under Image Comics from 2008 to 2009 in seven issues.

Casting is currently underway with production to start later this year. Will you guys be checking out I Kill Giants on the big screen?
