INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE (2016) Movie Trailer: The Aliens Have Returned

Independence Day Resurgence Trailer. Roland Emmerich‘s Independence Day: Resurgence (2016) movie trailer stars Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, and Vivica A. Fox. Independence Day: Resurgence‘s plot synopsis: “We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.”

I was very surprised by how good this trailer was and how it represented the upcoming film. When I first heard about a Independence Day sequel I was skeptical. As the casting commenced, I was still skeptical. Now I am no longer skeptical.

The writers of this film seemed to have ‘borrowed’ a little from Macross with whole alien tech being meld onto Earth tech but it makes sense. Why leave an advantage on the table? If no movie studio can get a Macross film off the ground, its major plot points should he harvested to make other films better. Independence Day: Resurgence is benefiting. I also liked seeing cast members from the first film show up again.

Independence Day: Resurgence also stars Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Angelababy, William Fichtner, and Sela Ward.
