Lauren Cohan, Sonequa Martin-Green, Lennie James and More Cast in Invincible

Lauren Cohan, Sonequa Martin-Green, Chad Coleman, Michael Cudlitz, Lennie James, and Ross Marquand have been cast in Invincible. The casting news was announced at Robert Kirkman‘s virtual panel at the 2020 San Diego Comic Con (Comic-con@Home).

Lauren Cohan has been cast as the voice of War Woman, “the only female member of the original Guardians of the Globe.”

Sonequa Martin-Green has been cast as the voice of Green Ghost, “a member of the Guardians of the Globe. He had a magic talisman that, when he swallowed it, turned him green and intangible, thus the name Green Ghost.” Obviously this character has been gender swapped in the television incarnation.

Chad Coleman has been cast as the voice of Martian Man, “a member of the original Guardians of the Globe. He possessed shapeshifting abilities.”

Michael Cudlitz has been cast as the voice of Red Rush, “an original member of the Guardians of the Globe. His name was very appropriate since he wore red and was really fast.”

Lennie James has been cast as the voice of Darkwing, “Formerly Night Boy, the original Darkwing’s sidekick. He continued Darkwing’s legacy but snapped and started killing criminals until Invincible apprehended him. A reformed Darkwing joined the Guardians of the Globe. He can teleport himself and others via the Shadow-verse using any shadow large enough to envelop him.

Ross Marquand has been cast as the voice of The Immortal & Aquarius, “Apparently unkillable leader of the Guardians of the Globe. Currently is married to Dupli-Kate.”

These actors and actresses join already cast: Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman, Chris Diamantopoulos, Melise, Kevin Michael Richardson, Grey Griffin, and Max Burkholder.

Invincible‘s plot synopsis: based on a comic book series by Robert Kirkman, “Invincible is an adult animated superhero show that revolves around Mark Grayson, a normal teenager except for the fact that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet. Shortly after his seventeenth birthday, Mark begins to develop powers of his own and enters into his father’s tutelage. The series is described as suspenseful, action-filled, and emotion-packed, yet builds upon poignant and heartwarming moments of love, friendship, and humanity.”

There is no word yet when Invincible will begin airing on Amazon Prime Video.
