Scott Buck Confirms Iron Fist Won’t Suit Up

For those waiting to see Danny Rand (Finn Jones) wearing the classic costume in Iron Fist shouldn’t hold their breath when showrunner Scott Buck revealed that the Living Weapon wouldn’t be sporting the comic book costume, at least not for the first season.

If you remember, Matt Murdock didn’t wear the Daredevil costume until towards the end of the first season. Even both Luke Cage and Jessica Jones didn’t end up wearing any costume. It might hold true for the upcoming Netflix series Iron Fist as Scott Buck confirmed that we wouldn’t be seeing the martial artist wearing the classic green and yellow outfit.

Chatting with Games Radar, the showrunner explained that there wasn’t any reason for Danny Rand to put on that costume during the first season of the Marvel series. “Danny Rand is still discovering who he is as a hero and where he is going to be,” he said, “so he’s not yet ready to put on a mask or a costume.” It’s somewhat disappointing to hear that, but it sounds like this may be addressed in some way when Buck added that not having a mask “does become an issue for the character.”

Maybe in the near future we might see Danny sporting some kind of costume. Much of the interview had Buck saying that Danny would have to hide his secret identity due to his billionaire status. Perhaps in The Defenders is when we could see him in full costume. What do you guys think about this?
