In the episode ‘Brother, Can You Spare a Brain?’, Liv (Rose McIver), Ravi (Rahul Kohli), and Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) must work together to solve the murder of a famous painter. Meanwhile, Liv discovers a sense of passion after devouring the painter’s brains. Because of this, Liv can’t help but try to seduce her ex-fiance Major (Robert Buckley). The episode marks the first appearance of Blaine DeBeers (David Anders), a zombie like Liv who has a mysterious connection with her.
The episode is directed by John Kretchmer, known for directing episodes of Veronica Mars, which Rob Thomas created before working on iZombie.
