Judge Dredd: Mega-City One May Have Karl Urban Return

It was just a week ago when it was announced that a TV series was being developed based on Judge Dredd by IM Global. The show was being called Judge Dredd: Mega-City One, but fans were upset that Dredd wasn’t getting a sequel. Well, there is some good news relating to main star Karl Urban.

After speaking with The 2000 AD Thrill-Cast, producer Brian Jenkins revealed that discussions have started to bring back Karl Urban to reprise his role, but his busy schedule may be a little hard to work around. Here’s what he said:

We have had many conversations prior to this, about all sorts of things. He’s also very busy, a full-time professional actor. So we’re going to have some long and complicated conversations I would imagine, and we’ll see where we go. It’s too early to tell yet, but if we can use him and he’s available to us, then I think that would be absolutely brilliant. There’s always a possibility he will be busy, or that his schedule for other movies won’t allow — basically, we don’t know at this stage.

The actor did say in the beginning that he would’ve loved to put the helmet back on for a sequel, but would he be okay doing a TV series? Last time we saw him on the small screen was for FOX’s cancelled sci-fi crime drama Almost Human. Maybe a second time around wouldn’t be so bad. What do you guys think? Should Karl Urban return as Judge Dredd in the TV series?
