Colin Trevorrow Explains His Connection To Jurassic World 2

Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow opens up about his involvement with the planned sequel to the science fiction blockbuster Jurassic World 2.

It’s been no secret that Trevorrow wouldn’t return to the director’s chair for the proposed follow-up. Indeed, he has been preoccupied for the past two years working on the upcoming drama The Book of Henry, to say nothing of gearing up for the monumental task of directing Star Wars: Episode IX. As a result, Legendary Pictures tapped A Monster Calls director JA Bayona to helm the sequel in place of Trevorrow.

However, this doesn’t mean that the Safety Not Guaranteed director has had nothing to do with the Jurassic follow-up. On the contrary, he has served as not only a screenwriter but a collaborator to Bayona on the film.

Per Superherohype, the source of this story:

“‘Jurassic’ ended up taking up more time and attention than I expected just because I care about it so much,” he says. “I surprised myself by how much I wanted to be there for JA [Bayona], just as a writer. I remember directing a ‘Jurassic Park’ movie and how much I would have loved to have a writer to think about the dailies and wonder what alterations we could make that would make it that much more effective. I was there with him every day to try and provide something for him that I didn’t have myself.”
