The Laughing Man‘s plot synopsis: “The Laughing Man references Scott Snyder’s “Death of the Family” Batman comic and takes place in a psychiatric facility where a new, unidentified arrival is being questioned. Viewers are taken on a tense excursion into brutal, bloody territory as the dialogue unfurls into a high-stakes role reversal.”
The Laughing Man is an excellent example of a high-end short film. I knew a lot of care had been put into the production when the film began. Zach Avery’s performance is the bedrock of the short film. He really sells how unhinged his character is without being over-the-top. Whitney Able’s Harley Quinn was what many fans will recognize from Batman: The Animated Series. She speaks with a subtle Brooklyn, New York accent.
