The Layover Trailer

William H. Macy‘s The Layover (2017) movie trailer stars Alexandra Daddario, Kate Upton, Matt Barr, Matt Jones, and Rob Corddry. The Layover‘s plot synopsis: “When their plane is rerouted due to a hurricane warning, two single female best friends (Alexandra Daddario, Kate Upton) find themselves competing for the same guy (Matt Barr) during an extended layover in St. Louis.”

I didn’t think this trailer would be as funny as it was but William H. Macy’ Alexandra Daddario, and Kate Upton pulled off a funny film. The Layover looks far funnier than recently released The Hangover-wannabe Rough Night.

The one-upmanship is pretty funny, women using their physiques and situations to attract and land a guy they like. One of the best scenes in the trailer was when Meg (Kate Upton) traps Kate (Alexandra Daddario) in a gas station bathroom. If Kate was such a germophobe that she wraps her hands and feet in tissue paper because she doesn’t want to touch anything in that bathroom (I don’t blame her), why urinate at a gas station? Why not wait until a restaurant or hotel showed up along the side of the road? How Kate escaped from the bathroom and the escape’s aftermath were hilarious.

Also clever in The Layover was that the best friends eventually used what they knew about each other against each other.

The Layover also stars William H. Macy, Kal Penn, Molly Shannon, Matt Barr, Matt Jones, Roark Critchlow, Carrie Genzel, Michael Benyaer, Joe Nunez, John Cassini, Ross Linton, and Tamitra Williford.
