LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN: Fox Wants a Reboot

20th Century Fox Wants Reboot of League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Alan Moore has written some of the most masterful and iconic comic books of all time. Watchmen, V For Vendetta, From Hell, Swamp Thing, and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen are all his work. Unfortunately, most of the cinematic adaptations are less than stellar – the titular title even became Sean Connery‘s final film, largely due to production issues and the tepid reception. It was, admittedly, a terrible film.

There is hope, however. After all, the comic book is an incredible work. It’s a pulpy, science-fiction romp that takes place in the Victorian era, utilizing and playing around with fictional characters such as Allan Quatermain, Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. There is no reason that Fox can’t respect the story properly, this time around, and create a satisfying, cinematic adaptation. Of course, things usually don’t turn out that way, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Fox drops the ball once more.

We’ll find out how faithful this reboot will be in time. For now, here’s the synopsis of the comic book, according to IMDb:

In an alternate Victorian Age world, a group of famous contemporary fantasy, SF and adventure characters team up on a secret mission.
