LEGION: X-MEN TV Pilot Gets Picked Up to Series [FX]

Dan Stevens Legion FX

FX Picks Up Legion To Series And Releases First Look at Dan Stevens in Pilot. The X-Men are already looking towards the future with FX having given an 8-episode order for the spin-off series Legion. On top of that, we also have our first look at Dan Stevens as the main character.

The X-Men inspired series, coming from Fargo’s Noah Hawley follows Charles Xavier’s son David Haller (Dan Stevens), who has been struggling with his mental illness. Labeled a schizophrenic, he has been in and out of mental hospitals for many years. However, after encountering a mysterious patient who seems to have powers similar to his, David comes to the realization that the voices he’s been hearing may be real. Legion will also star Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Jeremie Harris, Amber Midthunder, Katie Aselton, and Bill Irwin. The series will start production this summer in Vancouver before it premieres on FX in 2017.

“We’ve come to expect excellence from Noah Hawley and with Legion he has delivered another major creative achievement,” FX’s Nick Grad said in a press release (via Deadline). “Just as he did in reimagining Fargo, he is bringing an entirely new aesthetic and sensibility to the enormously popular and richly represented X-Men world. The pilot episode is stunning, driven by incredible performances from Dan Stevens, Aubrey Plaza, Jean Smart, Rachel Keller and the rest of the cast.”

Noah Hawley will also serve as executive producer along with X-Men’s Lauren Schuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Bryan Singer, and Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb.
