Hugh Jackman Gets Candid About Playing Wolverine In Logan

Academy Award-nominated Les Miserables star Hugh Jackman talked about what it was like filming his last appearance as Wolverine in Logan.

For well over a decade, Jackman has regularly appeared as the adamantium-endowed mutant in 20th Century Fox‘s long-running X-Men movie series. First appearing in the original 2000 film, he reprised the role for every following installment of the franchise with the minor exception of X-Men: First Class where he had an uncredited cameo. The actor also continued as the character in the solo spin-off movies, the latest (and last) of which is Logan.

With this in mind, it is no surprise that Jackman felt somewhat emotional about wrapping up production on the project. Stating that he “love[d]” Wolverine and “owe[d]” his career to the character, the Pan actor explained that he “put everything” into his performance precisely because he knew it would be the last time he would portray the iconic X-Man.

Superherohype, the source of this story, shared the following about the film’s plot:

Set in the near future, the film follows a weary Logan (Jackman) as he cares for an ailing Professor X (Sir Patrick Stewart) in a hideout on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.
