Logan Officially Receives Hard R-Rating “For Strong Brutal Violence”
Logan director James Mangold has revealed that the MPAA has decided to give the Fox X-Men spin-off an R-rating “for strong brutal violence”.
The news comes in the wake of repeated calls by fans for the movie to receive such a rating, with many arguing that it was the only way the movie could do the character of Wolverine justice. Although it has been suspected for some time that the film would get an R-rating, it was only today that it was confirmed by Mangold.
Posting on Twitter this morning, the Walk the Line director went out of his way to emphatically state that the movie is not for children. Not only did he say that it contains graphic violence, but he also warned that it featured strong language in addition to brief nudity. Parents would be well-advised to heed Mangold’s warning before buying tickets for the whole family when it comes out.
