Ida, Starred Up, Ilo Ilo, and the other winners of the 2013 London Film Festival Awards have been announced. The 57th annual London Film Festival official competition winners are from “the UK’s largest public film event, screening more than 300 features, documentaries and shorts from almost 50 countries…the festival hosted high profile awards contenders, screened recently restored archive films, championed new discoveries and combined curatorial strength with red carpet glamor. It also provided an extensive program of industry events, public forums, education events, lectures, masterclasses and Q&As with film-makers and film talent.”

Official Competition: Best Film: Ida, directed by Pawel Pawlikowski
Best British Newcomer: Jonathan Asser – screenwriter, Starred Up
First Feature Competition – The Sutherland Award: Anthony Chen, director of Ilo Ilo
Documentary Competition – The Griersons Award: My Fathers, My Mother and Me
BFI Fellowship: Sir Christopher Lee
