Lost in Space Trailer 2
The second TV show trailer for Lost in Space (2018) has been released by Netflix. After watching this trailer, I am really looking forward to this science fiction TV series. Thank God they made a TV series out of the Lost in Space IP again and not another feature film. A TV series gives the characters room to organically evolve and the IP’s background storyline room to breath (exploring new worlds, possible universes, etc.).
I love that the producers of the Lost in Space TV series remake made the Robot an alien machine of some change. A humanoid machine, which suggests that its creators where humanoid as well. Very interesting. I hope as much imagination has been placed into the machine’s backstory as his look.
The callbacks to Interstellar in this trailer are fine, almost to be expected in way. Interstellar was compelling in some ways and Lost in Space‘s producers wants fans of that film to take notice Lost in Space. I think they will succeed.
Lost in Space‘s plot synopsis: “Lost in Space is a Netflix Original dramatic and modern reimagining of the classic 1960’s science fiction series. Set 30 years in the future, colonization in space is now a reality, and the Robinson family is among those tested and selected to make a new life for themselves in a better world. But when the new colonists find themselves abruptly torn off course en route to their new home they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a dangerous alien environment, light-years from their original destination.
Stranded along with the Robinsons are two outsiders who find themselves thrown together by circumstance and a mutual knack for deception. The unsettlingly charismatic Dr. Smith (Parker Posey) is a master manipulator with an inscrutable end game. And the roguish, but inadvertently charming Don West (Ignacio Serricchio) is a highly-skilled, blue collar contractor, who had no intention of joining the colony, let alone crash landing on a lost planet.”
