Lucifer

Fox Picks Up Pilot for Lucifer to Be Directed By Len Wiseman. DC is securing their relations with Fox as the network has picked up a pilot order for the adaptation of the comic book Lucifer. Underworld’s Len Wiseman will direct the pilot as the story gets is getting tweaked.

Deadline reported that Fox and Warner Bros. have reached an agreement to bring the Neil Gaiman-created character to the small screen. Len Wiseman will also executive produce the project alongside Tom Kapinos, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman. Len Wiseman has also directed the pilot for Fox’s other show Sleepy Hollow and is an executive producer on the supernatural drama.

The potential TV series will also undergo a change in plot, as the fantasy show will also be a police procedural. The story would still follow the Lord of Hell leaving his throne and abandons his kingdom for the beautiful and sinful streets of Los Angeles, but instead of opening a bar as in the comics, Lucifer will be helping the LAPD punish their criminals.

Lucifer first appeared in Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comics, which is also being adapted but for the big screen. Lucifer circulated through 2006 with a total of 75 issues.

Lucifer joins Fox’s Gotham as the network’s second show to be adapted from a property in DC.
