Fox Opts To Green Light Additional Season Of Lucifer
Fox has already decided to renew its DC supernatural drama series Lucifer for an additional third season.
Although the program airs on the Fox network, DC produces it in conjunction with Warner Bros. TV similar to its other shows such as The CW‘s Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. Unlike these programs, however, the series is unconnected to the larger “Arrowverse” that ties them together. This is also true for Gotham, another Fox drama based on a DC property (that is, Batman) that adheres to its own story and mythos.
The announcement is as surprising as it is telling since it comes in the middle of the show’s second season. In fact, the program is not set to resume until May and concluding later, indicating how confident Fox is in its ability to continue performing well.

Lucifer is produced by Warner Bros. Television, in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Aggressive Mediocrity. Tom Kapinos wrote and executive produced the pilot. The series is executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson. Len Wiseman serves as director and executive producer. Kapinos serves as executive consultant on the series.
“Lucifer is one of those rare shows that starts strong out of the gate and just keeps getting better and better,” said Fox entertainment president David Madden.
