Mike Colter Reveals That Luke Cage Won’t Be in a Good Place at the Start of the Series. Right out of Jessica Jones, audiences will find Luke Cage in a depressed state when his own series comes out on Netflix next year. Mike Colter shared some details on what this would mean.

Mike Colter spoke with the press at a red carpet event for Jessica Jones and expressed his excitement working on his own series. Colter says that working on Jessica Jones was sort of a ‘warm-up’ for Luke Cage before he goes out on his own in the next Marvel series. “Luke Cage is completely different” from Jessica Jones, “as Daredevil is completely different,” Colter told the media.

Colter also explained that Luke would be on a journey to find himself after what went down in Jessica Jones. “Luke Cage is going to find Luke right after Jessica Jones, uptown,” Colter said. “He’s licking his wounds I would say and he’s trying to figure out what is his next step and it’s hard because he doesn’t know where to go from here. He’s lost a lot and he’s basically in a state of turmoil.”

Luke Cage is currently in production and will drop on Netflix sometime in 2016.
