James Gunn Has Come Up With An Idea For A Moon Knight Movie

Guardians of the Galaxy director and writer James Gunn says that he has a “great idea” for a movie based on Marvel ComicsMoon Knight.

Gunn addressed the subject when he was asked on Twitter if he ever considered adding the character to the Guardians’ team. Although he said that Moon Knight doesn’t belong in the group, he admitted to loving the hero and even said he told Marvel about a story he had for a movie featuring him. Per CBR.com:

Gunn quickly tries to cut off any potential rumors that he’s heading up a “Moon Knight” feature film after he completes post-production on “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” He says twice that he doesn’t have the time to do a Moon Knight feature film, even if he does have an idea for one and has — at the very least in a casual setting — brought it up to the people at Marvel Studios.

Debuting in 1975’s “Werewolf by Night” #32, Moon Knight has led numerous dark and gritty ongoing Marvel Comics series over the last 40 years. Moon Knight is a character that’s worn many hats over the years, going from a Marine to a mercenary to a television producer and uses an array of gadgets, weapons and vehicles to wage a war on street-level crime.
