Mortal Engines Featurette

Universal Pictures has released a movie featurette for Mortal Engines (2018). In the featurette, entitled ‘A Look Inside’, director Peter Jackson talks about the scale of Mortal Engines as does Robert Sheehan. The viewer learns more about the plot of the film, if they have not read the book, than they would have from the first two movie trailers. The viewer also learns a little about what is motivating the film’s heroine, Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar).

Mortal Engines‘ plot synopsis: based on the book by Philip Reeve, “Thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan)—who hails from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London—finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar). Two opposites, whose paths should never have crossed, forge an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.”

Christian RiversMortal Engines stars Hugo Weaving, Jihae, Leila George, Ronan Raftery, Stephen Lang, Joel Tobeck, Frankie Adams, Colin Salmon, Caren Pistorius, Patrick Malahide, Ronan Raftery, Andrew Lees, Mark Mitchinson, and Sarah Peirse.
