The Mummy Trailer
The first teaser trailer for The Mummy (2017) has been released by Universal Pictures. The majority of the trailer is taken up by a fantastic plane crash (both in its staging and in the acting present during it) that dramatic introduces the viewer to a new take on a familiar story.
I was skeptical about this film from the beginning. The released images did nothing for me. That opinion changed with the release of this trailer. I hope the remainder of this film is as good as this plane crash. I certainly hope that its horror / thriller aspects are as intense.
The Mummy‘s plot synopsis: “Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.”
Alex Kurtzman‘s The Mummy stars Sofia Boutella, Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Russell Crowe, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, Javier Botet, Marwan Kenzari, Shina Shihoko Nagai, Solomon Taiwo Justified, Jason Matthewson, Noof McEwan, Selva Rasalingam, Dylan Smith, and Tyrone Love.
