MYST: TV Series Based on Game Being Developed for Hulu

Drama Series Based on Myst Video Game in the Works for Hulu. It looks like we may be going on a trip to another famous island as Legendary Television is developing a TV series based on the 90s computer game Myst. The series will be for the online video subscription service Hulu.

Deadline first broke news of the video game adaptation for the popular game series, which will be produced by The Amazing Spider-Man’s Matt Tolmach with a script being penned by Divergent’s Evan Daugherty. The potential series has already received a script-to-series commitment for Hulu,

Originally released in 1993, Myst puts players in the role of the Stranger, a man who has no memory of who he is or how he got on the island. The Stranger is entrusted with a special book that allows him to travel to the island of Myst. In the game, players must explore the island and search for other books that travel to other worlds known as Ages. The decisions that the player makes affect the outcome of the game as the player explores the back-story of the characters in Myst.

The game was a surprise hit to critics and fans, with both praising how the game immerses players into a fictional uncharted world. The game was a best seller for PC gamers and spawned into several sequels, spin-offs, and novels.
