Friday the 13th (2009) Remake gets a Cloverfield Hottie

Odette Yustman, the female love interest in recently released Cloverfield, has seen her future brighten significantly in the last few weeks. She has signed on to star in a film currently titled Born alongside Gary Oldman and Cam Gigandet. From Bloody-Disgusting: “The film is a psychological thriller that follows an 18-year-old who is haunted by a Dybbuk – the soul of a dead person barred from heaven – in the form of a young boy who perished in Auschwitz.” Yustman, 22, will be playing the 18-year-old character. The film is written and will be directed by David Goyer, who earned my respect along with a gaggle of others when he wrote the first Blade, co-wrote Batman Begins and wrote and executive produced Blade: The Series. Yustman will also be appearing in the remake of Friday the 13^th (2009) in a yet unspecified role by director Marcus Nispel (2003’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, Pathfinder). From IMDB: “Looking to reopen a camp for special need kids a group of councilors encounter a snag in their plans when an unknown person begins to pick them off one by one.” Normally I would not look forward to a remake Friday the 13^th but with Nispel (I loved his Texas remake for the most part) and Yustman (no doubt ear-marked as the “survivor” girl in the film) on broad, I will have to give this film a viewing. With these roles, Yustman will have a lot screen time in the next few years and audiences will be able to see more of her thespian range. In Yustman’s case that might not be such a good idea since she is so hard on the eyes.
