PREACHER: Work on Script for AMC TV Series Begins

Preacher AMC

Work on Preacher TV Series Script has Begun. Executive producers Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen have tweeted that they have started writing a script for the AMC adaptation of the cult comic series Preacher along with creator Garth Ennis.

Back in July, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg announced their work on getting Preacher to the small screen. It wasn’t until last Sunday that the duo went on Twitter telling fans that they officially begun writing the script. On Twitter, the duo wrote, “UPDATE: We have started writing a script. We met with Garth. He gave us great notes. PREACHER!!!!!!!”

Fans can have a sigh of relief knowing that Garth Ennis is involved with the project. Given how graphic the comic series is, its more than likely that some of the subject matter will be cut down for it to air on AMC. As long as the creator himself is available to decide what shouldn’t be added on the show, what could go wrong?

The only news we are eagerly anticipating now is who will be the actors who will take part in this series? Hopefully Evan and Seth are discussing this with executive producer Jason Weaver on who they want to play these vigorous characters.

The comic series is about a preacher named Jesse Custer who merges with a spiritual entity named Genesis as both of them go across America to search for God as well as encountering enemies and obstacles. With Genesis to guide Jason, the preacher gains the power to command anyone to his will. On this journey, he is joined by his girlfriend Tulip and a hard-drinking vampire named Cassidy.
