From 99% of the released video for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, unquiet regarding the live action adaptation has continued to grow. The two most detrimental aspects of the film, in my opinion, are: the bio-enchance suits and the overuse of cgi. The bio-enhancer suits are the single most idiotic, unnecessary addition the G.I. Joe universe that was made. They mine-as-well have introduced the B.A.T.s (Battle Android Troopers) in the first film like they probably will in subsequent films. Even the BATS never jumped around like cartoons which is ironic since they were cartoons. Producers could have just had exceptional soldiers in the film wearing normal army fatigues but no, they had to add a gimmick, a sell point. Then there is the overabundance of CGI in this film. Think if this film was made during the time when Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior was made. The stunts, the car sequences would have all been done for real instead of in front of a green screen. The latest clip I saw of the film involving a bio-weapon used on the Eiffel Tower, the Baroness and Stormshadow and a glass roofed building is a clear explain of this. They should have used stunt people instead of the actors and green screens. Big mistake. The excellent presence of Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols notwithstanding, after opening weekend I believe this film will sink fast. How do you like G.I.
