Netflix Official Puts Series Order on Spin-off The Punisher. Jon Bernthal is about to make Netflix is permanent home as the streaming service has officially made a series order for the upcoming spin-off The Punisher with Jon reprising his role as the anti-hero.

EW released the news that Marvel has ordered a spin-off based off of the vigilante, who was first introduced during this season of Daredevil. Jon Bernthal received positive buzz for his take on the role as Frank Castle, the vengeful military veteran who takes the law into his own hands with his brand of justice in Hell’s Kitchen. The new series will have the actor return to headline the series as the character continues to work in the city as a vigilante. Writer and executive producer Steve Lightfoot will be the showrunner of the upcoming series.

Marvel’s The Punisher will be the sixth series between Marvel Television and Netflix, which includes the upcoming Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the crossover miniseries The Defenders. Jessica Jones and Daredevil were the first to come out from the deal, launching on the streaming service in the last two years. Netflix has also given a teaser on their Twitter Page, which gives us a quick glimpse at the logo.

There hasn’t been word on when the spin-off will debut, but we should know pretty soon as Marvel plans on only releasing two series every year to maintain the cinematic quality of these shows. Check out the teaser below and let us know what you think. Are you excited to see Frank Castle in his own series?
