Rob Cohen Will Serve As Director On Adaptation Of Razor
The Boy Next Door director Rob Cohen has been tapped to helm the planned adaptation of Everette Hartsoe’s comic series Razor.
Fans of action movies are bound to recognize at least one of the films from Cohen’s lengthy resume. After moving on from directing episodes of TV series like Miami Vice and Almost Grown in the 1980’s, he went on to direct such titles as Dragonheart, The Fast and the Furious, XXX, and Alex Cross. His most recent project is Category 5, which is apparently in the middle of post-production.
Making its premiere in 1992, the comic that the film is based on revolves follows a young woman who is invulnerable to pain and thus more than capable of holding her own against anyone who might seek to do her harm. At this point, no release date has been offered for the film.

Number 11 Films is fully financing and handling worldwide sales on Razor as the first film under a new sales and financing partnership it has established with Lotus Entertainment. The companies will be introducing the project to buyers at the upcoming Marché du Film. The partnership has plans to produce and finance three to four films annually, with budgets in the $5M-$40M range.
“I’m excited to be announcing ‘Razor’ as the debut project under this new venture with Lotus,” says Wells.
