THE REAL: Tamar Braxton to Exit Season 3

Tamar Braxton The Real

Tamar Braxton leaves The Real. After serving as one of the daytime talkshow’s five co-hosts alongside Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni LoveJeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon, Tamar Braxton announced yesterday that she will not be back for the show’s third season.

“Everyone associated with The Real appreciates Tamar’s efforts and the contributions she has made to the show’s success, and we wish her all the best for the future,” a The Real rep stated. Although Braxton was present for this statement, she had already made a slightly less friendly one on her own via Instagram.

Braxton posted a picture of her and her sister, Toni Braxton, embracing, with a caption that begins, “I love u all but I have been stabbed in the back by someone I stupidly trusted…” The post goes on to express that Braxton does not plan on revealing who betrayed her, that she is taking a break from social media, and that she’s thankful for the support of her family and her faith to get her through this time.

The Real, which appears on Fox and rebroadcasts on BET, describes its hosts as “diverse and outspoken” women who “fearlessly invite the home audience into their lives.” It seems that, even as Tamar Braxton departs from the show, she upholds its values of women as real, passionate “work[s] in progress.”
