Rogue One: A Star Wars Story May Be Undergoing Reshoots. Disney execs don’t seem to be particularly happy with the first Star Wars anthology film, Rogue One. Rumors are now coming out that Rogue One may start doing reshoots due to their negative reaction to the first cut of the film.
According to a source in Page Six, Rogue One might be heading back to do some expensive reshoot for the next four weeks. The source has explained that Disney execs weren’t impressive with the first cut, saying that “has fallen short of what J.J. Abrams did with Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens.” The source also alleged that Disney isn’t taking a “back seat” and “is demanding changes, as the movie isn’t testing well.”
Another source coming from Disney has said that additional shoots would be expected in order to make Rogue One at it’s best. They also said, “Coming off The Force Awakens, there’s an incredibly high bar for this movie and we have a responsibility to the franchise and to the fans to deliver the best possible movie we can.”
